Back with the last “Get Cracking” post of the year. Have you enjoyed this series? I hope it inspired you to create holiday cards throughout the year, instead of waiting till last minute 😉 I haven’t decided if I will continue this series next year, let me know your thoughts.
I do know it gave me a chance to create a bunch of holiday cards and use some neglected stamp sets… which is always a good thing 🙂

Get Cracking: Sending Cheer
I started out with Wplus9’s Merriest Snowflake, and white embossed it on a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Then using a fluffy round brush, I painted water over the embossed snowflake.
This time I am using Distress Spray Stains. I like how fluid the color is, and how intense you can get the colors. A bit faster than when making a palette of color with your Distress Ink pads. I poured a little of Spun Sugar, Festive Berries and Cracked Pistachio into a palette to paint from.
I added color, then spritzed water, heat set, and added more color. I played with a lot of layers and a lot of water for these. I honestly wasn’t sure how the red/green one was turning out, but I am happy with it now, after a lot of playing.
I then die-cut Wplus9’s Sending Cheer die several times out of red cardstock. I also cut a few out of white cardstock, for the top layers. I sentiment stacked them using a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. For the word “CHEER” I covered it with glue, and adhered WOW embossing glitter to it. Either Celebration or Peppermint Stick.
Ok, time for you to go visit Chari, Libby, and Caryn to see what they created THEN your turn to make a holiday card! I can’t wait to see what you make 🙂

Beautiful cards. Love that WPlus9 Stamp. The Distress stains are very nice. I love how you can make it look so bold.
I love this series and considering I ran out of Christmas cards I clearly need to get crackin’ earlier next year. These sending cheer cards are so pretty. I haven’t used my stains in a while so I need to dig them back out.
I loved this series, not just because it gave me inspiration all year long, but also because once the fall starts, the remaining time to Christmas seems to evaporate. Every year, the bulk of my cards have to be done before October or they don’t seem to get done at all.
