Get Cracking on Christmas – Let it snow, snowmen

04/19/2018

Get cracking on Christmas | shurkus.com

Ok, let’s be honest.

November rolls around and we say to ourselves “man I should’ve started to make holiday cards A LOT sooner.

or

I have so many wicked cute holiday sets that I haven’t even had a chance to play with yet.

I am going to guess that most of you who are reading this post fall into one if not both of those scenarios. So I was talking with my crafty friends Chari and Cheiron, and I mentioned it would be fun to challenge each other to create at least one-holiday card a month. I mean, that would give me 12 handmade holiday cards to send out this year and that would be way more then I sent out last year.

So each month on the third Thursday each of us girls is going to post our holiday creation and hopefully inspire you to create one too! We also have some other crafty friends joining us this month, so be sure to visit Caryn for some holiday inspiration too!

If you do end up making any please leave a comment below with a link, or tag me on Instagram so I can see! We are also going to use the hashtag  #getcrackingonchristmas

We can do this! We can create holiday cards all year, and be a little bit more prepared for the holiday season!

Let it snow, snowmen

Even though I am a summer girl at heart and love all things beachy, and warm and sunshine. I absolutely adore snowman.. decorations, not the real things… because that would be too cold LOL. I fell in love with this Mama Elephant set right away! It made a quick and east one layer card too!

I stamped the image and did some simple Copic coloring. Then I ink blended the sky with Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. For the sentiment, I cut the “let it snow” from Lawn Fawn Peacock Cardstock and white cardstock a few times and layered /offset them. I added some Tonic Nuvo Glitter to the top and some dots here and there.

Ok, time for you to go visit Caryn, and Chari, to see what they created THEN your turn to make a holiday card! I can’t wait to see what you make 🙂

If you do end up making any please leave a comment below with a link, or tag me on Instagram so I can see! We are also going to use the hashtag  #getcrackingonchristmas

LOL. Loved reading your post Jenn and I have to admit, I did a second take when I saw it. I thought it was an old post….haha.
Your card is great. I have sent so few cards this past couple of years and have SO many made that MY goal is to get them signed and addressed in these 12 months. I would do well to get my over flow SENT! However, I do like making Christmas cards so if I make any new ones, I will try and tag them on IG for you to see.

Great card, really fun and colourful.
You’re right we all do fall into those brackets but I then fall into the third bracket, ‘ I will just buy them this year and I will start making them next January ‘ Have you heard that one also ? xx

I love this card, but darn I just can’t do it yet. Still have too much snow on the ground. Had another snowfall yesterday. It’s supposed the be the last. I sure hope so. I’m so ready for spring. I’m ready for tulips and apple blossoms, which we had last year about this time.

Love the LF colors with the snowmen! So cute!! I do like the idea of making 1 X-mas card a month. However, I need to see some warmer temps before I get started! Lol It still feels a lil wintery here in KY. I’m SO ready for some sunshine!🌞❤
