Fawny Holiday Week: Cheery & Bright

Welcome to our special Fawny Holiday Week! This week is all about getting ideas for the upcoming Holidays! Lawn Fawn has fun ideas, giveaways, and videos on their blog this week! There is still plenty of time to create handmade cards for the holidays! Fawny Holiday Week: Cheery & Bright

Do you know when you create a card, that just makes you squeal out loud? This was one of those cards for me. I just LOVE how this one turned out and I can’t wait to share all the details with you!

Using Lawn Fawn’s Snowflake Background Stencils I created this soft, rainbow snowflake background on Distress White Heavystock. You can actually see me create this background in a recent REEL I posted on Instagram here:

Using Distress Inks; Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, and Salvaged Patina. When overlapping these colors you get a full rainbow of color! You can see in the above video, I am using the Square Ink Stands which make ink blending so much easier! I also am housing my blender brushes in the new caddy that holds 20 brushes and takes up little space on your desk, and lastly when I am stenciling I am using the 7″ Stay-Tion – LOVE this tool!

Once I had the background created, I diecut it with the largest rectangle in the Outside In Stitched Rectangle set. I then used the sentiment from Cheery Christmas to stamp “may your Christmas be cheery & bright” with Versafine Onyx Black ink and set it aside.

I then die-cut a few snowflakes from the Stitched Snowflake and mini snowflakes die sets out of Distress White Heavystock. I also cut some of the teeny tiny ones out of some Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock.

With the snowflakes that I cut out of Distress White Heavystock, I did some inky, wet, ink smooshing with Distress Inks.

• Picked Raspberry
• Spiced Marmalade
• Mustard Seed
• Twisted Citron
• Peacock Feathers
• Wilted Violet

I dried them with the Ranger Heat tool, and while they were on a craft sheet, I put on top a thick layer of Glossy Accents. This way if any of the glossy accents ran off the edges I knew I would be able to easily peel it away, however, I find Glossy Accents tends to stay where you place it, and it usually doesn’t drip if you have it on a flat surface.

Once the glossy accents were dry, I added some foam squares and foam strips to the backs of the snowflakes and arranged them onto the background. Using a glue tube I added some of the Pixie Dust tiny snowflakes too. Lastly, I used glossy accents and touched the tips of the snowflakes here and there with just a little bit, then sprinkled some Chunky glitter on them. I love this subtle chunky sparkle!
