You can find my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge here.
I am so lucky to be able to take part in Lawn Fawn’s feature of ALL their holiday sets!! If you need holiday inspiration… this is for you! A TON of their holiday sets will be featured on their blog this week! How awesome is that!?
This year for “A Very Fawny Holiday Week” I don’t have a tutorial video like last year, but I DO have 3 different cards to share. I wanted to give you some inspiration for holiday cards with non-traditional colors. Those who have taken card classes with me know I always end up tossing in a hot pink, lime green and of course teal holiday card- and I wanted to share these ideas with you!
This card was a lot of fun to create and I love all the layers and textures their are on here. I stamped the birch trees from Joy to the Woods on Distress Watercolor paper with Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink. I then added shading with Pumice Stone Distress Ink and put a hint of pink all over with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I cut the trees out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts set. This is the first time I have used them to cut the trees out and I just LOVE how well they do, especially the little space between the 2 trees.
I stamped and white embossed the fun little sprinkle of snowflakes that come in the Let It Snow set. I just love this stamp because it is nice and random and really fills the space well.
Next I stamped the fox from Into the Woods and the santa hat from Hats Off To You. Both with Vintage Sepia Versafine on Distress Watercolor paper. I then watercolored them with Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries. I diecut them out with their coordinating Lawn Cuts (did you know that even though Hats Off To You is an older set it has coordinating dies now? )
Then I stamped 3 pennants from Bannerific. I filled each banner with a letter to spell out J-O-Y using Clark’s ABC’s. I fussy cut out the pennants.
I used glossy accents all over the birch trees to adhere Distress Dry Glitter in Rock Candy. Its a pretty chunky glitter, so a glue pen wouldn’t be strong enough to hold it. I used white Liquid Applique on the pennants and the santa hat and puffed them up with a heat tool. Quickie Glue pen and ultrafine crystal glitter on the pennants and the fox.
To assemble the card I did a similar banner as I showed here on #73 Lawnscaping Challenge. You tie the bakers twine around the birch trees, and then you fake attach the pennants, just by adhering them with foam tape over the twine. Super cute right?
Lastly I added some glossy accents along the bottom of the card and poured some Stampendous shaved ice to add a snowy ground.
There you have it! A fun, pink holiday greeting! Thank you for visiting!!
Don’t forget I will be back Thursday & Friday and check out all the other FABULOUS creations this week on the Lawn Fawn blog– some serious inspiration can be found over there!!
