Easy Last-Minute Holiday Cards, Flora & Fauna
It’s mid-December! If you think it is too late to whip up some holiday cards, think again! Here are 3 quick and easy card designs I created with Flora & Fauna stamps and dies. Hopefully, with my tips and this inspiration, you will create some holiday cards soon.
It’s never too late, or too early to create holiday cards. I create my Christmas cards all year long you can see in my Get Cracking on Christmas series.

Be Merry
Tip 1: Solid Stamping
When you are in a pinch for time to create cards and want different colors on your card, solid stamps are perfect for this. For this card, I created an easy watercolored background with Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and then used solid stamps, stamping with Distress Oxide inks so there was no coloring needed.
Cookie Time
Tip 2: Repetitive Stamping
Stamping a bunch of images all over the background creates a beautiful background, and you don’t need to worry if you have enough pieces of patterned paper. When creating multiples you can use a Misti to stamp the images in the same place over and over.
A bold sentiment over this background is very eye-catching, although this sentiment is individual letters which might be a bit more time consuming, you could find a sentiment where it is just one die.
Oh Deer
Tip 3: Simplify Coloring
To speed up the cardmaking process, simplify your coloring. You can see here I only colored the deer image and kept the colors for him very simple. I stick to a two-color Copic coloring approach, which is fast and easy. If you would like to learn more about this you can see my Copic 101 post here.

Other Tips:
- Create multiples, and work in an assembly line method. Watercolor a whole bunch of backgrounds at one, stamp and die-cut images all at once.
- Using a stamping platform, where you don’t need to place the stamp in a perfect spot each time is a huge time-saver as well.
- Adding something as simple as glitter really makes your card “sparkle” and it is fast, easy, and inexpensive. You can see in some instances I used ultrafine glitter, chunky glitter and even Stickles glitter glue.
- Adding something simple like a stitched rectangle really makes your card look that much fancier!
- Creating a card with snowflakes, or using a sentiment with a winter focus is perfect if you think your cards may be belated. Then your recipient can enjoy them throughout the winter.
I hope these have inspired you to create some holiday cards this season- it’s not too late! None of these cards took longer than 20 mins, and if you chose one design and did an assembly line method you would have a stack done before no time!
Thank you for taking a peek at these today, and happy holidays!
