Get Cracking: Peppermint Spices

Alright, when you have this many adorable cocoa and coffee cups in a set, it was just screaming to me to rainbow all of the things! For this holiday card, I played with some fun stamps and stencils from Newton’s Nook Designs!

So, I stamped out all of the adorable cups onto Neenah 80# with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, and colored them in with Copic markers in some fun rainbow colors. I then die cut them out and added some sparkle with a Quickie Glue pen, and Prisma Glitter.

I then stenciled the background using Newton’s Nook Design’s Snowfall stencil, Distress White Heavystock, and Distress Inks in the following colors:

• Kitsch Flamingo
• Worn Lipstick
• Spiced Marmalade
• Mustard Seed
• Mowed Lawn
• Peacock Feathers
• Wilted Violet

As always when stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, and my favorite blender brushes are the Simon Says Stamp ones, organized in the Layer Cake Brush Caddie.

I then diecut a stitched rectangle out of vellum and I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and embossing it with clear powder.

I then arranged all the cute cups along the stitched rectangle, adhering them with foam squares, tucking and overlapping them. To adhere the stitched rectanlge to the card I added foam squares behind the cups so that the adhesive will be hidden.

This was such a fun card to put together, any excuse to rainbow all the things and use more snowflake things – I can’t wait to share with you on YouTube!
