Christmas in July GIVEAWAYS
We are FIVE months away from Christmas, and to celebrate Christmas in July I have a wicked fun GIVEAWAY! All my crafty friends sharing holiday cards today are also offering giveaways, so be sure to read to the end of the post!

Get Cracking: Nutcrackin’ Christmas
I LOVED the Nutcrackers stamp set from Avery Elle since I saw it. It has been sitting in my holiday stamp bin waiting to be inked up. I took it out a few times, but the stamp set was always out of stock, I didn’t want to “jennable” you and not have you be able to get the set if you fell in love with it like me!
I started by stamping each of the 3 nutcrackers, and the 2 bunches of holly with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, onto Lawn Fawn white cardstock (which is Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White 80#, Super Smooth). I colored them in with Copic markers, and die-cut them out.

I share the exact markers I used below, and link to them in the supply list at the end of this post.
I set the nutcrackers aside and started to create the shaker elements. I used the Honeybee Stamps A2 Snowglobe Shaker Dies. I diecut the front die out of red cardstock and acetate. I cut the back panel, and front band out of Distress White Heavystock.
I then ink blended some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink through the Snowy Sky Stencil from Lawn Fawn. I also diecut a hillside from Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Border.
Whenever I am using stencils, I use the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion to hold the stencils in place it makes it so easy, and I LOVE IT! I also filled an empty mister bottle with isopropyl alcohol, and use that with a flour sack cloth for quick clean-up of ink on the stencils.
Whenever I ink blend I use the Square Ink Stands that I carry in my online shop, they hold the ink pad in place and also help you so you don’t get inky fingers.
I also love Simon Says Stamps Blender Brushes. I have used some other brands, and I find that these are softer, and I like the large ones are nice and big and cover a good amount of surface at once.
I store them in the Layer Cake Brush Caddie, that I carry here in my {creative chick} studio shop. I put the caddie on a lazy susan, using wall putty to hold it on, this way it is easy to spin to the brush I want, and it doesn’t take up much space on my studio table.
I attached the hillside to the snowy background, then adhered the nutcrackers. I used Lawn Fawn Glue Tube for the left and right nutcracker, and foam squares for the one in the center.
I added the acetate panel to the backside of the red frame with 1/4″ double-sided tape. I then used black foam strips, and added foam around the outer edge of the snow globe frame. I then added some sprinkles that I will be shaking around, for this I used some gold, and shimmer white mixes from Lucy’s Card. I also added a few peppermint candy embellishments from Trinity Stamps. They don’t have the exact ones I used in stock, but they have a lot of cute options, here are a few:
I then added the back panel to the shaker front. I stamped the sentiment “Have a Nutcrackin’ Christmas” with Lobster Ink from Lawn Fawn, and ink blended a bit on the edges. I added this to the front of the snowglobe. I also added the two holly bunches with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.
This will fit on an A2 card front, but I decided to leave this as is, and I will write my holiday message on the back.
