I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps I haven’t had a chance to play with yet, and experiment with different techniques.

Get Cracking: Jane’s Doodles
Jane, the owner of Jane’s Doodles reached out to me and asked if she could send me a few of her products. I have admired her designs for a while now, they are so whimsical and fun- I immediately said YES! When I saw the goodies she sent, I just knew they would be perfect for Get Cracking on Christmas. I was very excited about this stamp set, Wild Winter. I grew up Snowmobiling all around New Hampshire with my dad, and this immediately brought back a lot of memories. I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black and Lawn Fawn white cardstock which is Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB Smooth Solar White Paper to stamp the lion and giraffe in the snowmobile, and colored them in with Copic markers.
I used the above Copic markers to color the images. You will find them linked below in the cardmaking supply list. With the swatches above you can easily substitute for similar colors, or even a different coloring medium. I also stamped “snow” from Lawn Fawn Quinn’s ABCs, and colored them in with Copic markers. I then used Lawn Fawn’s Riley’s ABCs and white embossed “bring on the” onto some Lawn Fawn Rainforest Cardstock. I used Yeti Lawn Fawn pigment ink, and Alabaster White Brutus Monroe White Embossing Powder.
Note: whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool.
Next, I worked on the background. I started by ink blending a piece of Distress White Heavystock using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I used Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy).
I then used the Jane’s Doodles Drops Stencil and the Lawn Fawn Yeti Ink along with an ink blending tool and foam (since I was working with pigment ink). I pressed the ink through the stencil to create a snowy background.
As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth.
I then stamped some snowflakes around the background with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. I used Newton’s Nook Moose Moutain and Newton’s Toboggan for the snowflakes. I have used Newton’s Moose in a previous Get Cracking, and I can promise you that I will be using Newton’s Toboggan soon since it looks like my three boys!
I then diecut the background from the largest stitched rectangle from lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle. I also cut a stitched hillside from Lawn Fawn’s die set and white cardstock. I fussy cut out the snowmobile image, and started to assemble the scene.
I used the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion to line up the sentiment perfectly. Lastly, I used some Distress Collage Medium and Distress Rock Candy Glitter along the snowmobile, hillside, and bottoms of the “snow” letters. I love how this sparkle looks just like snow! I then used Glossy Accents, and a few of the free sequins Jane included in the package. I also dotted some glossy accents in the center of the stamped snowflakes.
This card was so fun to create, and I had a lot of fun with the Jane’s Doodles products! I can’t wait to share more with you on YouTube!
