Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you a card set I created with the new Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous release. Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous: Paint By Number
This was a fun set of birthday cards to create! I started by “stamping” the Paint By Numbers stamp set as a whole background by rubbing a wet Distress Watercolor Pencil directly onto the rubber stamp. I then misted it with water with a Distress Sprayer and stamped it onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I dried this, then used the Spots Layering Stencil. I spread Distress Collage Medium through the stencil with a palette knife and let it dry.
While that was drying, I stamped the numbers the same way I did the backgrounds. I used the following Distress Watercolor Pencil colors:
- Picked Raspberry
- Spiced Marmalade
- Mustard Seed
- Twisted Citron
- Lucky Clover
- Mermaid Lagoon
- Wilted Violet
I then cut the numbers out. Did you know? That Simon Says Stamp is offering coordinating dies for some of Tim Holtz’s stamp sets? This stamp set is one of them! If you are interested in learning more about Distress Watercolor Pencils check out my online class!
Working on the backgrounds again, I did a wet wash of Picket Fence Distress Paint. I also splattered Distress Paint in Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, and Salvaged Patina. Then using the Distress Sprayer to spritz some water and break up the droplets a bit. I added the numbers to the backgrounds with foam squares.
For the sentiments, I used ones from Curiosity Shop. I white embossed them. I use Yeti Pigment ink, stamp the sentiments a few times, letting the ink build-up, and then I use a Brutus Monroe Alabaster White embossing powder. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I cut the sentiments into word-fetti strips and added them to the card with collage medium. Lastly, I added a few sparkly embellishments.
