Cape Cod Life Publications Holiday Party

2016 was a wild ride for this {creative chick}! I changed jobs and have settled in right back on Cape Cod. Where my heart belongs. I love being the Web Design and Social Media Manager for Cape Cod Life Publications– and we have BIG plans for 2017!

Lawn Fawn Classes, 2016

I taught Lawn Fawn classes at 4 different trade shows, in 5 different states and for 4 independent retailers. I am already planning my teaching schedule for 2017 and will share more of that soon on my upcoming classes page.

    You DID have a big year. And, all of it was great. I think the icing came toward the end with your first time being published. I didn’t say CONGRATS, yet, so I’ll so that right now, Jenn. No one deserves it more. Hmmm, what do I want to see in 2017… I guess more design ideas. I understand the basics of coloring with different mediums and just need to practice, but I am running out of ideas for card designs and find myself repeating the same ones. BORING!     Jenn- congrats on the job change. I always pick up Cape Cod Living on our annual vacation to Harwich every summer. Cape Cod is a magical place- even my once landlocked Colorado raised husband thinks so. To reiterate many other comments- coloring techniques would be helpful. Happy 2017!

    I love everything about your videos and LF stamps and dies. The videos are entertaining and I try to watch each one whether I have the sets yet or not (eventually seems I’m getting the whole store:-) ) I love seeing the ways the pieces of the stamps can go together since I get stuck creatively alot.

    I love Lawn Fawn stamps! I would like to see some coloring of skintones. It is something I struggle with. Never sure if I’ve gotten it right. A color comparison chart for Copic and Spectrum Noir markers would be very helpful!

    My favorite new discovery is the stencil brushes that are used for backgrounds. I haven’t invested yet, but they are on my list.     I would love to learn more about how to use distress inks, how to pick the right paper for different mediums like water color, colouring with pencils, vs paper for colouring with alcohol markers. I would also love to learn how to make effective backgrounds to place my stamped images on.

    I think most of us have a stash of random stuff that we hoard but do not use ( washi tape, ribbon, patterned paper, brads…) so maybe some sort of “use your stash” thing?
