Stay Strong, Mixed Media Cards, Simon Says Stamp
I got the Stay Strong Wafer Dies from Simon Says Stamp for DieCember, and haven’t had a chance to play with them yet. I thought I would make some bright and cheery artsy fartsy encouragement cards for the new year!
I started with a sheet of Distress Mixed Media Cardstock, cut to 4″ x 5.25″. I spread Ranger Texture Paste through the Rays Mini Distress Stencil (this is one of my faves in both sizes!).
Once the paste was dry I spritzed the whole background with water. While still wet I spray Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge Distress Spray Stains. The water on the paper first helps the colors blend together. I just love how the stains look in the crevices of the Texture Paste. As I dried the background with a heat tool I dribbled some water droplets on it with the Distress Sprayer.
Once dry I used a stencil with letters all over it, mini ink blending tool and Ground Espresso Distress Ink to stencil in some texture on the background.
For the sentiment I ink blended Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo on a 4″ x 1.25″ piece of Distress Mixed Media Cardstock. I then diecut out “Stay Strong” It’s much easier to do your ink blending first, then die cut so you don’t accidentally rip the paper while ink blending. I layered a piece of cardstock inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink behind the knocked out letters.
I assembled the card with foam tape for dimension. I had so much fun getting all inky and making this card, I made another with the same steps just some different stencils!
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, New Somethings! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
