I have 3 fun cards to share with you using some of the new products that have just been released. I love how easily the washi makes a beautiful card, but I also love playing with the stencils and stamps too! I hope you find these fun and inspiring! Congrats
For this Congratulation card, I used the new Celebrate Washi and coordinating die to cut out the cake and balloons. It is so beautifully watercolored with a touch of gold foil!
I then gold embossed the sentiment “Congrats” from the new Celebrate Washi stamp set, and die cut it. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool so I don’t get any stray bits anywhere and I get a nice smooth emboss.
For the background I die cut the Hearts and Stars Coverplate out of white cardstock, and overlayed it onto some gold metallic cardstock.
Watercolored Balloons
For this next set of cards, I used the Celebrate Washi stamp set, and then the Celebrate Washi Stencils to ink blend the colors with Pinkfresh Inks onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I have all the Pinkfresh mini ink cubes, and the mini Ink Stand for those makes it so easy and holds them in place to inkblend with the little cubes.
Anytime I am using stencils, I use the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion to hold my stencils in place, and simply move them when needed. When ink blending I love the Simon Says Stamp blending brushes, which I store in a Layer Cake Brush Caddie.
The reason why I did this on Distress Watercolor Cardstock is so that I could then go in with Distress Watercolor Pencils, and add more shadow on the balloons. I did this by scribbling on some of the pencils, and then brushing it, and blending it out with a wet paintbrush. I love how this turned out, the water-based inks also reacted a bit to the water, and it is so pretty!

I then added a touch of Prisma glitter with a Quickie Glue pen, and die-cut them out. For the background on both cards, I used the Floral Tiles coverplate cut out of white cardstock. I then added a sprinkle of jewels in a variety of colors that mimic the balloons.
