Penguin Love – Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! I have a card to share with you today, that was on the Lawn Fawn blog in December, but I didn’t get a chance to share it here. It’s actually perfect timing since it is a love card!

Penguin Love – Lawn Fawn

I absolutely LOVE that all Lawn Fawn stamps coordinate with each other, this allows for our imagination to create whatever we can think of! I loved using the Penguin Party set to create this Valentine ❤️ 

I started by coloring in the penguins, igloo, sign, and hearts with Copic markers. I used the pinks to add a hint of pink to the igloo instead of the typical blue ice.  You can see all the colors I used below, and I have them linked in the supply list below.

I then stamped and die cut “love ya” from Big Scripty Words with Lobster Ink. Tip: I share a tip on how to perfectly cut your scripty words on this post here.

I then die-cut some Stitched Hillsides and clouds from Simple Puffy Clouds out of white cardstock. I cut the Stitched Snowflakes Background from Ballet Slippers Cardstock.

I diecut the Stitched Hillsides and Stitched Snowflake Background from the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle to give a nice finish that I will later layer onto Chili Pepper Cardstock.

I ink blended the edges of the hillsides and clouds with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide. I ink blended the edges of the Stitched Snowflakes Background with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.

Note: When using Dye-based inks, like regular Distress Inks I like to use blender brushes to get a softer, smoother look. When using Distress Oxides that have a pigment property to them, I use an ink blending tool with foam. Since they have a pigment property they are going to blend easier, and if using a brush the inks would gunk up the bristles.

I then assembled the card. I also added some sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and Prisma Glitter. On the larger hearts, I used Glossy Accents and Prisma Glitter for a chunkier sparkle.

I adore how sweet this card turned out, and how different it looks with all the reds and pinks!
