New Alcohol Pearls, Tim Holtz/Ranger
Alcohol Inks are wicked fun to play with and Alcohol Pearls add a fun shimmer to any project! I had a lot of fun putting these cards together!
I started working on a piece of alcohol ink black matte cardstock. This paper is unique as it is not plastic like Yupo, but it still takes to alcohol inks really well. I used a combination of Snowcap Mixative Alcohol Ink, Blending Solution, and some of the new Alcohol Pearl colors; Opulent, Divine, and Elixir.
Using the Alcohol Ink Blower really helps move the inks in the direction you want them. This creates this magical, background with so much depth and shimmer! Once I got my backgrounds created, I cut them out with Lawn Fawn’s largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle die.
I recently demo’d on my YouTube channel my process of making alcohol ink backgrounds, and you can watch that here.
I also shared a quick process video over on Instagram:

Those of you who don’t know, I am a mermaid, so it is proof that they are real 😉 Just kidding… sort of.
For the sentiments, I used two alphabet sets from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. I used Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits and Cutout Script. Cutout Script has been discontinued, but there are other fun alpha dies you could use instead.
I die-cut the letters from Gold Sparkle Cardstock. I used my Wendy Vechi Stay-tion, which is a magnetic board with a grid to help me place the letters nice and straight, you can see what I mean in my post here.
Once the letters were in place I mounted the stitched rectangle onto some Holographic Cardstock and added some Bubble Bath embellishments from Trinity Stamps.
I had a lot of fun with these cards, and I think they will be fun to send to friends to brighten their day! I hope these cards inspire you to get a little inky!

Your video on how to make these backgrounds was super helpful and loved it, especially the colors. I, also, liked your adding the foil sheets instead of the metallic inks as they seem to pool and weren’t nicely put like your foiling was. Thanks so much and think I will try some of these backgrounds now.
I love the colors. Look, my teddy bear who’s a member of the family knows he’s not real. That’s my favorite oxymoron. So, you just tell people you know mermaids aren’t real but you are one. Did I tell you our bear talks? Walks, too.
This is beautiful! Love your colors!
