Deck the Halls with Inky Paws, Newton’s Nook Designs

As promised I am back with more Newton’s Nook Designs inspiration and I am so excited to be part of their Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! ok, let’s get to today’s FUN! I have another bright and cheery holiday card and another video to share with you on how I created it! Be sure to read to the end of the post to see where to HOP next, GIVEAWAY details, and SAVINGS details!

I had so much fun creating this card, and I had “help” from one of my boys… you will have to watch the video to see who exactly 😉 I started by inkblending the background with Distress Inks and the new Newton’s Nook Designs Christmas Tree Line Stencil. I love ink blending on Distress White Heavystock.

I used Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Salvaged Patina. I used one color for both layers, but using a larger blending brush for the background, to get a soft, light coloring, and then I used a smaller blender brush to get more of a concentrated color on the ornaments, star and tree stump.

I used Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy). As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth.

I then stamped, and colored with Copics the new Newton’s Gift stamp set. Of course I colored the kitty to look like one of mine, Mister Harley. I die cut that image out, and also the adorable letters to spell out “MEOW” from the Essentials Alphabet set in purple and Gold Sparkle cardstock.

I glittered all of the things- or in this case, the bow on the present, with a Quickie Glue Pen and Prisma Glitter. I used the Stay-tion board and Best Ever Craft Tape to get the letters in place, nice and straight.
