Hello everyone! I am wicked excited that I was invited to be part of Newton’s Nook’s Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week! I not only have this fun post to share, but I will be back on Friday with another and details about a blog hop too!
I love Newton’s Nook, Jennifer and Jeff (and the kitties) have always been so supportive of my online and in-person events, and their images are so fun to color to look like my boys 😉
Make a Quick Stack of Snowflake Watercolored Cards
I know that some of you maybe didn’t create along with me all year for Get Cracking on Christmas, and are maybe looking for some quick and easy ways to make a stack of holiday cards. This is it! I made 13 cards in an hour and a half even with some kitty interruptions, you will see if you want my latest video, which is linked below.
I created these cards using the new Snowflake Oval stamp set, and the coordinating Oval Frames die set. I created these fun watercolored backgrounds using Distress Watercolor Pencils.
In my video, I share a quick and easy way to create these beautiful snowflake frames using Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I also added a bit of sparkle using Silver Sparkle Cardstock and some jewels from Trinity Stamps.
When I stamped the first impression, and the Distress Watercolor Pencils laid down the most pigment where some of the details were lost, I then dried the backgrounds with a Ranger Heat tool and stamped over it with the Snowflake Oval stamp set and Metallic Silver Pigment Ink.
Learn how here
Be sure to come back on Friday as I will have more inspiration with Newton’s Nook and will have details about the blog hop and giveaways!
If you would like to see some more projects I have created with Distress Watercolor Pencils, you can here. I have an online class all about Distress Watercolor Pencils – see more details here.

Hi Jen and Jack! Great video. I think I will have to play with my Stamos and distress crayons today!
This is a cool technique and I have those crayons. I will give it a try!
Yes, I have the same issue w/ “helpers” — especially my boy, Ritz. It’s a good problem to have, I guess.
Thanks!

Love this!
