Sweet Days, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

Hello! I am sharing with you today a few cards I created with the Simon Says Stamp’s February Card Kit, Sweet Days! This kit is overflowing with products! A 6×8 stamp set, a love die, 6×6 stencil, holographic rainbow cardstock, glitter papers, mesh bag, and more! There is such a variety of products, this kit is perfect for anyone!

Sweet Days, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

I had so much fun creating a few different sets of cards with the latest card kit from Simon Says Stamp. Be sure to read to the end, there is a lot of inspiration in this post!

For this card, I used the 6×8 stamp set, Sweet Days included in the kit, and Crunchy Leaf Lawn Fawn ink, and stamped the images all over the background. I then proceeded to color them in with a variety of red and pink Copic markers, and then outline all of the images with T2 and T0 Copic.

I then die cut the background with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle set. I adhered this to a card base where I lightly ink-blended the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I used Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy), and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads,

I then white embossed the sentiments on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock. I white embossed “Hey Sugar Have. Sweet Day” from Sweet Day 6×8 stamp set, with  Yeti Lawn Fawn pigment ink, and Alabaster White Brutus Monroe White Embossing Powder.

Note: whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool.

I then embellished the sweet treats in a variety of ways:

• Glossy Accents and Prisma Glitter
• just Glossy Accents
• Distress Collage Medium and Distress Rock Candy

For this second card, I started by lightly inkblending an ombre rainbow onto Distress White Heavystock. I used Saltwater Taffy, Squeezed Lemonade, and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink.

I then used the Hearts and Stars 6×6 stencil included in the kit and ink blended some darker colors using Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, and Peacock Feathers. As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth.

I then diecut the background layer from the Fancy Love die included in the kit, directly from the background I just stenciled. From that, I diecut the front layer of the Fancy Love dies. I also diecut the background layer and several front layers from black cardstock. to be able to sentiment stack. Once I adhered all the sentiments together, I adhered them to the background I originally created.

I then diecut Simon Says Stamps Heart Sprinkle Trail die and adhered some of the hearts and sprinkles to the background.

Next, I stamped and white embossed a sentiment, and fussy cut it out, adhering it to the card.

I then added a generous amount of Glossy Accents to the word “love” and let it dry. Once dry I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the bottom edges of the letters and sprinkled on some Chunky Glitter. Lastly, I added some Prisma Glitter to the circle sprinkles in the background with a Quickie Glue Pen.
