Hi everyone! It’s a new year and that means new inspiration from Tim Holtz! I am here today to share with you a couple cards I created with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix release. Tim Holtz/Sizzix: XOXO
For this card, I used the new True Love Colorize die set. Putting together these sweet treats was so fun, and easy!
I added adhesive to the cardstock I was going to die cut first. You could do this with a Xyron, or you could use double-sided adhesive sheets. Then you have all these stickers and it makes it o easy to put together the colorize dies! I used a variety of card stock from Lawn Fawn:
- Chili Pepper
- Ballet Slippers
- Guava
- Chocolate Bar
- Ground Coffee
- Vanilla
Also using a mini die-cut machine makes die-cutting the smaller dies go by so much faster! Once I adhered my truffles together I added some sparkle and shine with Distress Rock Candy and Glossy Accents.
Next, I die-cut the sentiment XOXO with the new Alphanumeric Bulletin Dies. I really think I am going to get a lot of use out of these, I love a good alpha!
I then created a fun inky background using Saltwater Taffy and Tea Dye Distress Ink on some Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I cut the background out with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle. To put the sentiment evenly spaced out, and centered on the card I used the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion with the magnetic zeroing ruler, it is so easy!
I then matted the card onto some Ground Coffee Lawn Fawn cardstock.
Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Grateful Heart
Bunnies don’t need to be used on just Easter cards. I used the new Bunny Stitch die set to create this encouragement card.
I ink-smooshed on some Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Saltwater Taffy and Mowed Lawn on two separate pieces. I then diecut the background bunny layer from the Saltwater Taffy and tore the Mowed Lawn panel to create grass. For the top layer of the bunny I die cut it out of Distress White Heavystock, and lightly dusted the edges with Tea Die Distress ink. I cut out a stitched rectangle, lightly inking the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink, and added a touch of Salvaged Patina Distress Ink for the sky.
For the sentiment, I used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text. I stamped the sentiment in Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink and cut the words into word fetti. I then inked the edges with the ink pad (remember when we used to do that all the time?).
