Hello everyone! I have a fun Lawn Fawn card to share with you today!
Pucker Up, Lawn Fawn
For this card I started with the new Woodgrain Hot Foil Plate, and hot foiled it with gold foil. I am using the Spellbinders, Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Spellbinders Platinum Machine. The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System works with most die-cut machines, you don’t need a Spellbinders Platinum. I have also found that Distress White Heavystock cardstock hot foils beautifully, and is my favorite to ink blend on. I ink blended over the background with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, I find that using an ink blending tool and domed foam is faster, and a more vibrant application of ink in this case. I then die cut it with the largest stitched rectangle in the Outside In Stitched Rectangle set.
I then stamped 9 lemons from the new You’re The Zest Lawn Fawn set. I stamped them with Ground Espresso Distress Ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I wanted the stamped line to blur a bit when I watercolored them with Distress Watercolor Pencils.
I used the following Distress Watercolor Pencil colors to color in the lemons:
- Fossilized Amber
- Mustard Seed
- Crushed Olive
- Peeled Paint
- Vintage Photo
I also added a touch of splatter with the Vintage Photo Distress Watercolor Pencil, and a wet paintbrush.
If you would like to see some more projects I have created with Distress Watercolor Pencils, you can here. I have an online class all about Distress Watercolor Pencils – see more details here.
I then stamped the cute little faces on each lemon with Versafine Onyx Black, and the 1.75″ grip block. This small block is perfect for the tiny stamping. I stamped the rosy cheeks with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and then touched each of them with a slightly wet paintbrush, to make the shape a bit more organic. I dried them with the Ranger heat tool, and then added some white gel pen details to the cheeks. I then diecut out each lemon.
I then used the Make Art Stay-tion to line the lemons up nice and straight, picking them up with a piece of Best Ever Craft Tape, putting some foam squares on the back, and adhereing them to the woodgrain background.
I then created an inky panel with the Salvaged Patina Distress Watercolor Pencil, dried it with the Ranger Heat tool, and die cut the sentiment “Pucker Up”and a heart from Henry’s ABCs and Lawn Fawn’s Hearts die set. Using the Make Art Stay-tion again to line up the sentiment and adhering it to the card.
I then used glossy accents and sprinkled some Distress Rock Candy on the edges of the lemons here and there for a little texture and sparkle! This card seriously makes me smile, I hope it does the same for you!
TIP: you can use the search feature here on my website, and type in the name of any Lawn Fawn product, and you will see any inspiration I have shared with that item.
