Mix and Match Butterflies, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

I had so much fun creating these cards with the latest card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I started by stamping out the butterflies from the 6×8 Mix and Match Butterflies stamp set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink onto Neenah cardstock. I colored each one with a different color scheme with the Copic markers below to color the images. You can easily substitute for similar colors or even a different coloring medium with the swatches below. Note: there is a coordinating die set for Mix & Match Butterflies; it even cuts out the sentiments!

I then white embossed some sentiments on black cardstock. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I stamp the sentiment several times over using a Misti and Yeti white pigment ink, then sprinkle the Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.

For the purple butterfly card, I added some Prisma Glitter to the lighter purple areas of the wings with a Quickie Glue pen. I also added a generous amount of Glossy Accents to the purple spots on the tips of the wings. I used some of the beautiful patterned papers from the kit for the background, and I added the butterfly on the card with an action wobbler, also included in the kit. Lastly, I added a few gems that were part of the kit.

For the orange-colored butterfly I also added some Prisma Glitter to the lighter orange areas of the wings with a Quickie Glue pen. I also traced the details lines on the wings with a Black Glaze Pen. I used some of the beautiful patterned papers and the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Transparencies from the kit for the background. Lastly, I added a few gems that were part of the kit.
