Happy New Year, Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! I thought it would be fun to share a few New Years’ cards this week (more coming on Friday 😉 ) Even if you have already created some for this year, you can always save these ideas for next year! But before I share my cards with you I wanted to let you know about some fun offerings! First of all, I have a BIG New Years’ SALE going on right now! Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-

Happy New Year, Lawn Fawn

For these cards, I started by creating the backgrounds with Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and Distress Spray Stains. I misted the paper with water first with the Distress Sprayer and then sprayed:

• Shaded Lilac
• Seedless Preserves
• Uncharted Mariner

As I dried it with the Ranger Heat tool, I splattered some water with the Distress Sprayer. Once dry I then splattered some Fortune Teller Distress Mica Spray which was part of the Halloween 2022 seasonal set. I then dried the background again. Once dry, I die-cut it with the largest rectangle in the Outside In Stitched Rectangles.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word “happy” from Big Scripty Words and gold sparkle cardstock that is part of the Holiday Sparkle cardstock set. I added that word to the card with foam squares. I also die cut “new year!” from Stitched Oliver’s in gold sparkle and black sparkle which is part of the Autumn Sparkle cardstock set. I layered the two letters together, offset using a glue tube.

Using the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion, I lined the letters up with proper spacing and used Best Ever Craft Tape to pick up the letters altogether. I then added foam strips to the back of the letters. I then added the sentiments to the backgrounds using the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion and the 0-centering ruler to make sure everything was centered and straight.

I then die-cut some gold stars from Puffy Stars Stackables and Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag and added them to the background as well.
