Happy 2023, Lawn Fawnatics

Hello everyone! I thought it would be fun to share a few New Years’ cards this week (see the one I shared on Wednesday here ) Even if you have already created some for this year, you can always save these ideas for next year!

I created this card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. This challenge is encouraging you to create a card using the photo above as inspiration! There are so many possibilities and it is always fun to see how people translate the photos onto their projects.

Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-

Happy 2023, Lawn Fawn

For this card I started by die cutting the stitched fireworks onto a piece of Distress Watercolor cardstock. I then watercolored with Distress Inks in the following colors:

• Black Soot
• Peacock Feathers
• Mustard Seed
• Picked Raspberry
• Wilted Violet

I dried it with the Ranger Heat tool, then die-cut it with the largest rectangle in the Outside In Stitched Rectangles.

Next I stamped out images from Happy Village, Village Shops and Village Heros in Jet Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB Smooth Solar White Cardstock. I colored all the images in with Warm Gray Copic markers. I die cut them out and then arranged them into a little scene on the card using Glue Tube and Foam Squares.

For the sentiment, I gold embossed the word “happy” with Riley’s ABCs. I stamped out “2023” with Quinns Numbers and watercolored them gold with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors palette. I also splattered some of the gold paint on the fireworks background.

Using the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion, I lined the letters up with proper spacing and used Best Ever Craft Tape to pick up the letters altogether. I then added foam strips to the back of the sentiment. I then added the sentiments to the background using the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion and the 0-centering ruler to make sure everything was centered and straight.

I then mounted the background onto some gold sparkle cardstock that is part of the Holiday Sparkle cardstock set. Lastly, I dusted the bottom of the sentiment with Glossy Accents and sprinkled some Chunky Glitter into it.
