Alright, now to the fun card I have to share with you-
Good Luck, Lawn Fawnatics
After the last clean and simple challenge, I had to get a little inky with this one! I started by cutting a bunch of stars out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I used Puffy Star Stackables, Outside In Stitched Stars, Stitched Star Frames, and Heart and Stars Tiny Tag dies to cut the variety of stars.
To ink the stars up, I smooshed some Mustard Seed Distress Ink onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water, to get some good droplets, and plopped the stars into the ink, dried it with a heat tool, then plopped it in again for another layer. Always dry it with a heat tool in between each layer.
I then took another piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and proceeded to create the background. Using Distress Inks I did each color at a time. I smooshed the pad onto a piece of acetate and spritzed it with water to create droplets. I then bring the acetate to the watercolor cardstock, this way I can see where I am placing the ink, and somewhat control it. I used a Ranger Heat Tool to dry the ink in between colors. I concentrated the ink to be on the right side, inspired by the sketch. I used the following Distress Ink colors:
- Kitsch Flamingo
- Spiced Marmalade
- Mustard Seed
- Twisted Citron
- Salvaged Patina
I diecut the background with the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle. I started arranging the stars along the right side. On the largest star, I stamped “good” with Riley’s ABCs and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I also diecut “luck” from Finley’s ABCs with Gold Metallic Cardstock.
I also added a sprinkling of tiny stars cut from Gold Sparkle cardstock. I matted the whole card front on Black Licorice cardstock.
I hope you find this card inspiring, and that you join us in the challenge! You could win a $50 Gift Certificate from Lawn Fawn!!

Like others, I love this card. Thanks for providing instructions on how to give this a try.
!!! That is so beyond gorgeous I can’t even stand it. I’ve never tried brining the acetate to the card – just have smooshed the card onto my craft mat. Guessing there wasn’t that much water or it would have dripped like crazy? Now I must buy. Thank you!
Loved your card. I really have to get out my Distress inks and do some of this fun background playing. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love this!
