Giveaways!
I have a fun giveaway I am sharing, more details are below and some of my crafty friends who I have linked below are offering giveaways too!
Get Cracking: Watercolored Trees
I shared some fun holiday cards this fall, with a very easy and unique watercolor technique using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I even created a quick REEL and shared it on Instagram showing the technique, a fun tutorial that over 24,000 people have watched WHOA!
So I thought for this month’s Get Cracking I would share the same technique with a few fun twists! I can’t wait to play during my LIVE because every card I make with these steps looks different and unique, and I just love them so much!
The main supplies used on these cards are:
the new Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bottle Brush Tree Stamp set
I also added in a few other stamp sets for the string of lights and sentiments:
I used a few different things to “glitter all of the things” and add all the sparkle! I used Distress Mica Flakes along the ground, to create snow. I find that Distress Collage Medium adheres this best. I then used Glossy Accents, and Distress Rock Candy Glitter to create ornaments on the trees. And then using Glossy Accents again I added some Distress Gold Glitter to the bulbs on the strong of lights. Using Glossy Accents gives dimension, but also holds the glitters really well.
These cards were so fun to create. True creative PLAY! I can’t wait to share with you on YouTube!
Learn how on YouTube LIVE
I can’t wait to share with you my process for these cards on my YouTube channel, tonight, Thursday, December 15th at 8p ET. I hope you will join me, and remember, work on your holiday cards while you watch!

Such pretty cards! I need to break open this stamp set and my Distress watercolor stamp set and play with them soon.
Love these and how you run your sentiments by hand. I am always so fussy about having them be perfectly cropped, but you showed me that freehand also looks great!
Whoops…trim, not run!
I love these so much!!! The rainbow-ness, the watercolory-ness, the Jenn-ness with the mica flakes and glitter – they all equal the perfect design for your last Get Crackin’ on Christmas (which was my first in person.)
The timing hasn’t always been right for me to join you for your Get Crackin’ on Christmas lives, but the planets aligned and I tuned in last night while working on doing the last couple of steps for 10 of my Christmas cards and it was so nice to craft along with you! I love this technique (I love how you can use more variations of color, but is similar to one of my favorite techniques from your first Distress techniques class!)
I definitely appreciate all of the inspiration and encouragement you’ve shared all year long! I did work on my Christmas cards all year long and really only needed to create one design (the 10 I was working on) for those who would appreciate a lovely watercolor nativity scene. I’ll be better prepared with this knowledge next year since this is the first year I’ve sent anything but a photo card to everyone on my list.
I hope your holiday is filled with love and laughter and lots of warm kitty snuggles!
(and of course, I’m allergic to rubber [so sad – I should probably talk about what good things I’m not allergic to] so I figured it was best to comment here instead of on the video.)
Jenn! These are jaw-dropping! The Textures and colors! What a cool technique and combination of media!
