I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps I haven’t had a chance to play with yet and experiment with different techniques.

Get Cracking: Retro Watercolor
I have wanted to play with some of Hero Arts liquid watercolors for a while now, and although at first glance they don’t scream “holiday” colors- that didn’t stop me! You probably know by now I like to create non-traditional colored holiday cards, and I think this one hit it out of the park! I started by gold embossing the images from the Hero Arts Merry Foliage set onto the smooth side of Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
I also die-cut some of the foliage pieces from Hero Arts Winter Foliage Stamp & Cut XL. I then watercolored all of these pieces with liquid watercolors.
For the background, I created a shimmery wash using Gansai Tambi Starry watercolors and painted a wash on the textured side of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then die-cut it with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables set.
I die-cut the images out and curled the watercolor cardstock against a bone folder to add a little dimension. I added some of the foliage with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, and others with foam squares. I then added some Pinkfresh Studio Champagne Glitter Drops with the Trinity Stamps PickUp Tool. I also added some Distress Rock Candy Glitter to all the berries with Distress Collage Medium.
