Normally I would be sharing my project on the 3rd Thursday of the month, but with being away on vacation, I just didn’t have time to write up my blog post before I left. I am excited to continue to share the Get Cracking on Christmas series and wicked excited to work on my stash of holiday cards throughout the year! I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps I haven’t had a chance to play with yet and experiment with different techniques.

Get Cracking: Plaid Snowman Greetings
Clearly, I like to collect all the Newton’s Nook holiday stamps! This is one reason why I like the Get Cracking on Christmas series, because it gives me a fun excuse to buy more holiday stamps, as I know I will use them!
Using the Snowman Greetings set, I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black and Lawn Fawn white cardstock which is Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB Smooth Solar White Paper and colored them it with Copic markers.
I used the below Copic markers to color the images. You will find them linked below in the cardmaking supply list. With the swatches above you can easily substitute for similar colors or even a different coloring medium. For the background, I used the Plaid Stencil set from Newton’s Nook. I lightly ink blended with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink, then using the Wendy Vecchi STAY-tion I stenciled the plaid with Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet Distress ink.
I ink blended on Distress White Heavystock and I used Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy). As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth. Have you seen my new *exclusive* Flour Sack cloths?! They are wicked fun and available in my online shop!
I then used some Distress Opaque Texture Paste and a palette knife to create snow along the ground. I added some Prisma glitter to the snow on the sign and along the ground. I also used a black glaze pen on the snowman buttons and eyes as well as the eye on the cardinal. Lastly, I added a touch of glossy accents to the heart on his hat.
This card was so fun to create, and I always love create with snowman! I can’t wait to share more with you on YouTube!
