Get Cracking: Merry & Bright

Ok, I am still having SO much fun playing with Distress Spray Stains and Distress Oxide Sprays, and that is what I used to create these cards! If you want to learn more about using the sprays, join me for my LIVE on YouTube, but also register for my online Distress Technique class!

I used a variety of different surfaces for these cards. I used:

• Distress Watercolor Cardstock
• Distress Mixed Media Heavystock
• Distress Kraft Heavystock

On each of the backgrounds, I white embossed the Ink Blot Shop Snowflake Flurry Background stamp using Versamark and Brutus Monroe Alabaster White Embossing Powder. I primed the cardstock first with the Cottontail Powder tool to take away the static electricity, and any oils I left behind from my hands etc.

I then sprayed Distress Spray Stains

• Salvaged Patina
• Peacock Feathers
• Iced Spruce

I used some of the limited edition Distress Mica Stain Sets, to add some shimmer.

I also used some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Spray on some of the backgrounds.

I diecut each of the backgrounds with the largest rectangle in the Outside In Stitched Rectangle set from Lawn Fawn and matted them on red and kraft cardstock.

For the sentiment, I used Simon Says Stamp/ CZ Design Merry & Bright die set. I created red backgrounds using Distress Spray Stains:

• Festive Berries
• Picked Raspberry

I used some of the limited edition Distress Mica Stain Sets, to add some shimmer.

I also used some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Spray on some of the backgrounds.

I then diecut the words and snowflakes and stars out of metallic gold cardstock and gold sparkle cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I adhered these to the cards with Lawn Fawn glue tube and foam squares.

These cards came together so quick and easy and I just LOVE how bright and vibrant they are!
