Get Cracking: Loose Watercoloring

Hello everyone! I am excited to participate in another year of the Get Cracking on Christmas series and wicked excited to work on my stash of holiday cards throughout the year! I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps and supplies I haven’t had a chance to play with yet and experimenting with different techniques.

Get Cracking: Loose Watercoloring

Pinkfresh Studios recently came out with their holiday release, and I shared a few cards already- but there were so many other fun products I wanted to play with I decided to feature them in this month’s Get Cracking on Christmas. I die-cut the Festive Grid cover plate out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and loosely added color with Distress Watercolor Pencils

I then gold embossed the main image and one of the sentiments from the Magical Holiday stamp set. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I stamp the image several times using a Misti and Versamark ink, then sprinkle the Gilded Gold embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I used the coordinating die to cut them out, and watercolored them with Distress Watercolor Pencils as well.

I added a few touches of gold paint on the ornaments and splatters with the Gansai Tambi Starry Color Palette and a bit more sparkle with some Holiday Wishes Gem Stickers from Honey Bee Stamps.

This card was relaxing to watercolor, and I can’t wait to share some tips and tricks with you during my YouTube LIVE.
