Note: don’t miss the WICKED fun Lawn Fawn card I am also sharing today!
Phew! I have been busy busy busy in the studio! I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration I have been sharing lately. Today I am sharing a few cards made with the exclusive Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember Birthday Bash Card Kit! This kit is perfect for creating birthday cards all year long and is jam-packed with tons of supplies!
Simon Says Stamp does a great job putting kits together, that have great value and fun supplies! As always there is a limited quantity of this kit, so if you like it- don’t delay in ordering!
Even though this card kit is sold out, all of the supplies I used on my cards are still available individually, and I have linked to them throughout the post.
STAMPtember Birthday Bash Card Kit, Simon Says Stamp
I have FIVE cards to share with you today. I used all the fun supplies included in the kit. As always, Simon Says Stamp has included so many fun items, and such a great variety- once I started creating I couldn’t stop! There are a few basic supplies not included in the kit that I used to complete my cards. I have listed those supplies at the end of this post and as always a full supply list with links to shop at the end of my post as well!
This was the first card I started to create because I was dying to try out the new Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads. There are THREE included in the kit; Blush, Sunbeam, and Ocean.
My short answer about these inks is I was BLOWN AWAY!
My more in-depth answer is: I found these inks to blend SO nicely on 100lb Solar White Cardstock, I honestly was in shock! I used my Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (there are 2 small brushes included in the kit) and got such a nice smooth, even, vibrant blend. The inks layered so nicely, as you can see here where I used the Party Balloons 6×6 Stencil. They also stamped beautifully. I used them to stamp the stars and “Happy Birthday” from the Birthday Bash 6×8 stamp set included in the kit.
Jennabler Alert! I ordered the Trio 1 set of these inks on the first day of STAMPtember because they were teal 😉 and I wanted to try them out. I hadn’t gotten a chance to play until I created these cards. After I finished I immediately ordered the other inks I needed to create a full set. That is how much I LOVED these inks. You are going to see me use these a lot more in the coming months I can promise you that! You can see all the colors available here
I also did a fun IGTV and shared the kit contents and demo’d with the inks here
Ok, more about these fun cards
As I mentioned, I layered the Party Balloons 6×6 stencil using the Sunbeam and Blush Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads. I love how you can get a light application or a vibrant darker look. I also love how well they layered on top of each other.
Whenever I use stencils I use my Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion, it is a magnetic board, that holds the stencil in place and makes stenciling fast and easy!
I used a fine point marker/pen to draw in the balloon strings.
I added some Prisma Glitter details with a Quickie Glue Pen on the balloons, in the stars, and in the “Happy Birthday” sentiment. I trimmed the background to be 4″ x 5.25″ and then matted it on some Peacock cardstock included in the kit.
For this next card, I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the 6×8 Birthday Bash stamp set included in the kit with Jet Black Lawn Fawn ink. I then Copic colored the letters with the following Copic colors:
- R35
- RV13
- RV21
- YR04
- Y38
- Y15
- Y15
- Y13
- YG17
- YG05
- YG01
- BG13
- BG23
- BG11
- V17
- V15
- V12
- RV66
- RV55
- RV52
- T0
Once I colored in all the images, I outlined them with a T0 Copic marker to frame in the sentiment. I added some Prisma Glitter details to the letters. I also added some chunky glitter along the bottom of the sentiment with a glue tube. You know you can never go wrong with a little sparkle, glitter all the things! I then trimmed this panel to 5.25″ x 4″ and matted it onto a Holographic panel that was included in the kit.
What’s great about these, is the rainbow ombre is across an A2 panel, instead of an 8.5×11 sheet, so you get a little bit of all the colors.
For this next card, I stamped the cake slice from the 6×8 Birthday Bash stamp set, colored it in with Copic markers, and then fussy cut it out.
I ink blended a 4″ x 5.25″ white cardstock panel with the Sunbeam Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad and a blender brush. I stamped “Happy Birthday” towards the bottom, then attached the cake slice with foam squares.
I trimmed the “another trip around the sun” sentiment from the CZ Design Reverse Birthday Sentiment Strips included in the kit. I adhered that over the cake slice. I stamped a few stars with the Blush Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad.
I then added some Prisma Glitter details with a Quickie Glue Pen and added some Chunky Glitter with a Glue Tube. I adhered this panel to an A2 white card base.
For this next card, I started by inkblending the Party Candles 4×4 stencils in the background. Using the Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads and the 2 Party Candle stencils included in the kit. Applying the ink in a light manner of the background, and then a more saturated manner for the pattern on the candles.
I then diecut the Balloon Bouquet out of black cardstock. I trimmed another sentiment from the CZ Design Reverse Birthday Sentiment Strips included in the kit.
I added some sparkle with Prisma Glitter and a Quickie Glue Pen. I trimmed the candle background to 4″ x 5.25″ and matted it on an A2 panel of black cardstock.
I then added the balloon bouquet and sentiment.
For this last card, I started by stenciling the Balloon Bunch stencil. I used the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion to hold the stencil in place, and I proceeded to ink blend with the 3 Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads (Blush, Sunbeam, Ocean). Overlapping the inks to create orange, green, and purple into the rainbow. I trimmed this to be 4″ x 5.25″.
On a piece of vellum, that is 1″ x 5″ I stamped and clear embossed the “Celebrate” sentiment. I wrapped the vellum and adhered to the back of the balloon background.
On another piece of white cardstock, I stamped the party hat and noisemaker from the Birthday Bash 6×8 stamp set with Jet Black Lawn Fawn ink and colored them in with Copic markers. I then fussy cut them out, and added some Prisma glitter with a Quickie Glue Pen.
I adhered the party hat over the vellum with foam square, and the noisemaker tucked under the vellum with glue tube and foam squares.
I then adhered this panel to another of the A2 holographic panels.
There are so many other cards I could create with this awesome card kit, I can’t wait to play with it a bit more! I hope you enjoy these cards and find them inspiring when you get your kit!
