Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-
Windows With A View, Spellbinders

You know I always love to share ocean-inspired cards, and these two make my mermaid heart so happy! There’s just something about an underwater scene that never gets old for me, the layers, the textures, the little details. These cards were such a fun project from start to finish.
For both cards, I diecut all the elements first. The fish, coral, seaweed, shells, waves, and anchor, and then added color using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I just love how soft and organic watercolor pencils look on diecut pieces. The backgrounds were freehanded with the watercolor pencils too, which gives them that loose, painterly feel I was going for.
Once everything was assembled, I added the sentiments “word-fetti” style, which is one of my favorite ways to add a sentiment to a card. Those little stamped snippets feel so playful and casual. To finish things off, I added some mini brads to the port hole, and I applied Distress Rock Candy Glitter with Distress Collage Medium for just a hint of shimmer and texture. It gives the pieces that little something extra without going overboard (pun intended!).
The first card has more of an open ocean floor scene with the anchor as the focal point, while the second features a porthole frame that really pulls the whole nautical vibe together. Two totally different looks, same basic supplies and process, I love when that happens!
I hope these little underwater scenes inspire you to dive into your own ocean-themed projects! If you make something inspired by these cards, please share it. Nothing makes me happier than seeing your creativity.
The full supply list is at the bottom of this post. Happy crafting!
