Alright, now to the fun card I have to share with you-
True Crime, Lawn Fawnatics
Ok, I had a little fun with this card 😉 . I love true crime shows, books, movies, and podcasts! Chris might even tell you I am a bit obsessed. When working in my studio I am often listening to true crime podcasts, more on that in a bit. So this card was inspired by all of those things!
I started by creating my little town using Village Shops, and Happy Village. You can see below the Copic markers I used, and all are linked in the supply list at the end of this post.
I created the road, and shrubs in the background with the road border die and puffy cloud die
I then added some first responders to my crime scene using Village Heros and can you spot the murder weapon? I used Pick of the Patch for that.
For the sentiment, I colored an ombre with R35, R22, and R30 Copic markers, and then cut out “SORRY” with Finley’s ABCs.

I created my own crime scene tape but cutting strips of cardstock, coloring it with a Y15 Copic marker. I then stamped out “Crime Scene” with Harold’s ABCs, and drew in the diagonal lines with a black marker.
As I mentioned I am often listening to true crime podcasts in my studio while working and creating. I have mentioned this in some of the LIVEs I have hosted, and it seems as though there are a lot of true crime fans who are also cardmakers out there! How clever to make your own crime scene tape. This would be so cute on so many cards. I love this card and your creativity. Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m a crime scene fanatic, also. It’s so fascinating how they can determine and solve a crime. Best one I ever saw was DNAing a tree leave.
Well, this card of yours is just too much fun. I too am a fan of all things murder mystery so that was my first thought for a theme. Could also have Lawn Fawn squirrels robbing stores and hiding their treasures or mice overrunning haunted houses.
