Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous: Department Store
For this card, I used the new Department Store stamp set. I had a ton of fun doing no-line watercoloring with Distress Watercolor Pencils on Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
I started by stamping the bell image with Tea Dye Distress Ink and masked the image. I then stamped the music note image across the background with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. While the bells were still masked I splattered the background with some water droplets and some splatters with Fresh Balsm Distress Mica Stain, which is part of the *limited edition* holiday set.
I then peeled the mask off and did a little no-line watercolor with Distress Watercolor pencils. I diecut the panel with a stitched rectangle, and ink blended the edges with Bundled Sage Distress Ink.
I then stamped and gold-embossed the sentiment from the new Holiday Sketchbook stamp set. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool so I don’t get any stray bits anywhere and I get a nice smooth emboss.
I trimmed the sentiment and dusted the edges with Bundled Sage Distress Ink. I then ink-blended the edges of the card base with Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink. I finished off the card by adding a generous amount of glossy accents to the berries, and sprinkling Distress Rock Candy on it.
This was a lot of fun to watercolor, and I love how the no-line coloring looks when it is finished!
