Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Feathery Love
I just love this new Feathery die set– there is so much you can create with them, and I have two cards to share with you today!
For this first card, I started by die cutting 3 of the feathers out of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I misted them with water first with the Distress Sprayer. I then proceeded to spritz them with Distress Spray Stains. I used Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, and Vintage Photo.
I then splattered the feathers with Black Soot Distress Paint, and the splatter brush. For the background, I stamped the woodgrain stamp from the Lumberjack Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous set with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide, onto Kraft Heavystock.
I then ink blended the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Whenever I am ink blending I use the Ink Stands, to hold my ink pads in place. Lastly, I splattered a bit of water from the Distress Sprayer, letting it react to the Distress Oxide and Distress Ink.
For the sentiment, I white embossed one of the sentiments from the recently released Noteworthy stamp set. I white embossed using Yeti Lawn Fawn pigment ink, and Alabaster White Brutus Monroe White Embossing Powder.
Note: whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool
For the second card, I die cut 4 of the feathers from the Feathery set, and colored them Distress Spray Stains>
- Kitsch Flamingo
- Spiced Marmalade
- Mustard Seed
- Twisted Citron
- Salvaged Patina
I then stamped the same woodgrain stamp from the Lumberjack Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous set with Black Soot Distress Oxide, onto White Heavystock.
For the sentiment, I black embossed one of the sentiments from the recently released Noteworthy stamp set. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide, and Ultrafine Clear Embossing Powder.
Note: whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool
I used an ink blending tool and dusted the edges of the sentiment strips with Black Soot Distress ink.
