Tim Holtz/Ranger: New Distress Halloween Seasonal
Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE creating Halloween cards? I don’t think I have this week, so now is the time! I LOVE creating Halloween projects!
For this card, I had fun creating with some of the new limited edition seasonal Distress products. I started spreading some Distress crackle texture paste through the flourish stencil on a piece of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and let it dry.
Once dry I spritzed some of the new Distress Mica Sprays. Fortune Teller, Harvest Moon, and Wicked Elixer. I misted the Distress Mixed Media Heavystock with water first, then sprayed the mic stains. I heat set it with the ranger heat tool.
I then put the Flourish stencil back in place, over the crackle paste and proceeded to rub some of the new Iron Gate Distress Pearl Mica Crayon from set 3. I smudged it with my finger, again with the stencil in place so it acted as a mask. This made the crayon go into all the cracks, I think this looks so awesome! I then used a paper distresser along the edges of the cardstock, to rough it up. I then matted this layer onto a piece of the new Distress Black Woodgrain Cardstock.
Now, to create this fabulous skull! I used the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Spencer colorize dies. I cut each of the pieces out of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock, except for the top layer, which I cut from Distress White Heavystock.
I then proceeded to add color to each of the layers.
- Bottom two layers, I sprayed Iron Gate Distress Mica Spray on.
- Next two layers, I sprayed Decayed Distress Mica Spray.
- The next layer, I sprayed Antique Linen Distress Oxide.
- The top layer I cut from Distress White Heavystock, I dusted the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.
I glued all the layers together and filled in the eye sockets and nose with Black Glaze Pen. I added the skull to the card with black foam squares.
I then found some seasonal small talk stickers from my stash, inking the white ones with some Wild Honey Distress ink, and added them to the card with black foam strips.
