Hello everyone! I’m excited to share with you that Ranger and Tim Holtz have released some new Distress Embossing Glaze colors! I had so much fun creating this card to inspire you!
These are available now, and you can get them here
If you have never played with Distress Embossing Glazes, the big difference to remember is that they are translucent and not opaque like most other embossing powders. This means we will be able to see through it. The other really cool thing about Distress Embossing Glazes is they are in the Distress palette that we all love and know so much! I will go over some of my card details in this post here. I also put together a fun video of my process that you can watch here
I started by taking a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and ink smooshing some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the background. I then inked up the Eccentric stamp with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide and flipped my panel over, pressing it onto the inked stamp set. I used this set as a background stamp.
Using the Distress Sprayer filled with water, I added some water droplets to my background so that they would react with the Distress Inks. I then dried the background well with a Ranger Heat Tool. I then used the Distress Embossing Dabber to dab onto the leaves from the Nature’s Wonder stamp set. Stamping one at a time and sprinkling each of the new Distress Embossing Glaze colors. Once all the leaves were covered in powder, I then melted the powder with an embossing gun. I then trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and roughed the edges with a paper distressed.
I folded up the corner and stapled it with the Tiny Attacher. I then added this panel to a piece of kraft cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment with Distress Oxide onto kraft cardstock and cut them into “word fetti” adding them to the card with foam strips.
