I am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card!
This week’s challenge is It’s a Guy Thing – the design team is featuring Tim Holtz Products!
I have so many different Tim Holtz products it was tough to narrow it down to what I wanted to use, that would fit on a card ha! I decided to start with one of my all time favorite stamps of his- Umbrella Man, and I went from there!
I used the ruler stamp from Tim Holtz’s Artful Tools cling stamp set to stamp in gray on the gray cardstock. I used his Odd’s and Ends set to stamp the ticket and sentiment. I used his paper edger to distress the edges of the ticket.
Before I stamped the Umbrella Man on Distress watercolor cardstock I inked it with a blending tool and a mix of Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Black Soot on the edges. I then dripped water droplets on that background and let them sit, lightening the color in those places. I heat set it with my Heat tool and then using the Measured Layering Stencil added a little bit of ruler with Antique Linen Distress Paint and a stiff brush to the upper right corner of the Distress watercolor cardstock. THEN I stamped umbrella man with Archival Jet Black ink.
To finish it off- I mixed some Ranger Texture paste and ink from the Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink pad, and spread it through one of the Arrows on the Layering Stencil. Once dry I added some white enamel dots on it. I also added some Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the umbrella.
Guess what!?! The gray and shimmer blue cardstock I used was left over from my January Card kit! So now I have made ELEVEN cards from that kit! Crazy!!
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. NEW is the theme this week so you can play with a new product that Santa delivered to you, OR it could be “new baby” “new home” etc.
Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
There will be one lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
