Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Release: Let’s Chill!

Hey everyone! I am here today to share with you a card I created with some of the new exclusive products from the Simon Says Stamps Let’s Chill release!

Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Release: Let’s Chill!

For this card, I started by black embossing the new Beach Party Umbrellas Stamp onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock.

Whenever I want clean black embossing, I use Versafine Onyx Black ink, Superfine Clear Embossing Powder, a Misti Stamping Platform, and The Rabbit Hole Designs Cottaintail Powder Tool.

I prime the paper with the Cottaintail Powder Tool to take away any static or moisture. I then stamped the image 3 times, building up the ink, and then quickly put the Superfine Clear Embossing Powder onto it.

Once the image was embossed, I did a watercolor wash across the background with Distress Ink:

• Kitsch Flamingo
• Squeezed Lemonade
• Salvaged Patina

I dried this with the Ranger Heat Tool. Then I watercolored one of the umbrellas with Distress Ink and a more intense color:

• Picked Raspberry
• Spiced Marmalade
• Mustard Seed
• Twisted Citron
• Peacock Feathers

I die-cut the background with the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle and matted it onto Black Licorice Lawn Fawn Cardstock.

For the sentiment, I die-cut the Sending Smiles Die out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and the background out of Black Licorice Lawn Fawn Cardstock.

I watercolored the front layer of the sentiment with the same Distress Inks as I did the single umbrella.

Then I added a little Prisma Glitter to the lines on the one beach umbrella and the sentiment.

I love that this new background stamp doesn’t have to be used on a typical beach-themed card, and hopefully, this bright card makes you smile!
