NEW Distress Embossing Glaze Colors!

Tim Holtz/Ranger: New Distress Embossing Glaze Colors

I am wicked excited to share with you this mixed media card I created with some of the new Distress Embossing Glaze colors. I love working with Distress Embossing Glazes because of their translucent properties. It is so fun to layer with them, and get a variety of looks.

Ok, let me now share with you the card I created!

Before I get started I wanted to let you know I have a fun, quick video showing you the process of how this card came together here

For this card, I started by doing a little bit of ink smooshing with Pumice Stone Distress ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then stamped the script background from the Entomology stamp set with Black Soot Distress Archival Ink.

I then dusted the background with The Rabbit Hole Designs Cottontail Powder Tool, this will assure that embossing powders won’t stick where I don’t want them to. I then arranged a bunch of the bugs from the Entomology stamp set and stamped them with Versamark ink. Next, I proceeded to sprinkle different colors of Distress Embossing Glazes using a mini spoon to help get the colors where I want them.

I used the following Distress Embossing Glaze colors:

• Abandoned Coral
• Spiced Marmalade
• Squeezed Lemonade
• Crashed Olive
• Mowed Lawn
• Mermaid Lagoon
• Peacock Feathers
• Seedless Preserves

I then embossed the glaze using a Ranger Heat Tool.

Next, I created an inky background with Distress Inks in the coordinating colors as the Distress Embossing Glazes that I used. I then trimmed down the bug background and layered it onto here. For the sentiment I stamped out a few collage elements from the following stamp sets Moth Study and Eccentric. I then stamped the sentiment from Nature’s Wonder using Black Soot Distress Paint so it had a bit of an imperfect look.
