Hello everyone! I have been enjoying some mermaid time here on Cape Cod, so I of course was inspired to share with you another card with Mermaid For You. You can see all the cards I have shared over the years with this stamp set here. Alright, now to the fun card I have to share with you-
Mermaid Infinity Shaker, Lawn Fawn
I created a fun infinity shaker, only having the shaker bits in the ocean! For this card I started by stamping out images from Mermaid For You, On The Beach, Life Is Good, You Are Sublime and coloring them with Copic markers

I share the exact markers I used below, and link to them in the supply list at the end of this post.
I then ink-blended some panels with Distress White Heavy Stock with Saltwater Taffy and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. I cut from one of them the largest Stitched Rectangle Frames. I ink blended another panel with Tea Dye Distress Ink and die cut it with one of the Simple Stitched Hillsides.
Whenever I ink blend I use the Square Ink Stands that I carry in my online shop, they hold the ink pad in place, and also help you so you don’t get inky fingers.
I also love Simon Says Stamps Blender Brushes. I have used some other brands, and I find that these are softer, and I like the large ones are nice and big and cover a good amount of surface at once.
I store them in the Layer Cake Brush Caddie, that I carry here in my {creative chick} studio shop. I put the caddie on a lazy susan, using wall putty to hold it on, this way it is easy to spin to the brush I want, and it doesn’t take up much space on my studio table.
I then used some Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and did some ink smooshing using Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. I diecut 3 strips of waves, using the Stitched Wave Borders. I also cut a panel that is approx 3″ x 4.25″.
On that smaller panel, I created a little scene for the sea floor, adhering everything flat with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. I then used the plastic from a clear bag to create the infinity shaker. I used 1/4″ tape to adhere it to the back of the panel, leaving one end open so I could sprinkle in some sequins. I used a fun mix from Lucy’s Card – she has a lot of options, be sure to check them out here.
Once the shaker was sealed shut, I created the rest of my scene. I then stamped out “mermaid” using Riley’s ABCs onto a sentiment banner that I had ink blended with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. I also die-cut “wishes” using Cole’s ABCs from a piece of Distress White Heavystock I had ink blended with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.
I used the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion, because of the grid, to align the letters the way I wanted them, and then used some Best Ever Craft Tape to pick the letters up in place. I added glue tube to the back of the letters and added to the front of the infinity shaker, on the plastic.
Lastly, I added the stitched frame using white foam strips. This framed the scene and finished off all the edges.
