Happy May Everyone! May is always a busy month for me. It is my birthday month and the weather in New England is always really nice which gets me outside more. This month I have a lot of FUN things planned right here on the blog and I’ll be sure to share my May adventures with you as well!
First up I wanted to share that I have stepped down from the Lawnscaping Challenge Team. I have been on the team almost three years and I just felt it was time to free up some time for some other projects I have up my sleeve! No worries though, I am STILL obsessed with Lawn Fawn so you will see plenty of that here and I also still plan to play along in the challenges here and there!
This weeks challenge is Watercoloring and since I am a bit obsessed with it lately I knew I HAD to play!
So I have a confession, I might have gone a bit overboard with this card- BUT I was having too much fun watercoloring all the images from Baked With Love, I just couldn’t stop! I stamped the images in a very light Distress Ink Color on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and then painted them in with Distress Ink. The colors I stamped with were Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw and Pumice Stone. For Pumice Stone it was a bit dark so I inked it up, stamped on scratch paper then stamped on the Distress Watercolor Cardstock. The word “Flour” I traced over with the Worn Lipstick Distress Marker. To color in the images I used the previously listed colors.
For the background I cut out one of the Stitched Squares and spritzed Scattered Straw Distress Spray Stain on the background. I heat set it then did another layer.
See the fun little squiggle coming from the pastry bag? That’s some white enamel accents! I love how it turned out. What I had a hard time photographing is the Sprinkled Sugar Stickles on the top of the flour and the cupcake. It is SO pretty just trust me YOU NEED IT! 🙂
So even though I am not part of the Lawnscaping Team anymore I encourage you to still play a long. I LOVE challenges, especially if you need some inspiration to get started! Not to mention you could win some awesome prizes!! 🙂 Be sure to head over to the Lawnscaping Blog to see all the fun cards the team made to inspire you! AND stay tuned for more fun happenings in May 🙂
ADORABLE card Jenn – will miss you on the team! BIG hugs!
Gonna miss you on the team, girlie! But I’ll still see you around plenty. And I wish you every success in all your crafty endeavors. Gorgeous card!
Love it Jenn!! I wanna bake in that adorable pink kitchen
