I am part of a very special blog hop today. This hop is hopefully going to inspire you to take part in a remarkable card drive!
Welcome to the Kindness Campaign Card Drive and blog hop. The Katy M. Murphy Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Katy’s mom Amiee. Katy had a congenital heart defect and lost her life at the tender age of 6. Amiee started the Foundation to honor her daughter’s memory.
Today we are kicking off the card drive with a blog hop. We are hoping that all of you will help us by sending in cards to help complete Katy’s Kindness Kits. The kits are for children and their families who are living with a congenital heart defect (CHD) and are inpatients on the cardiac care unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. The foundation will be delivering kits to the hospital to help make the children and their families stay at the hospital easier, or kinder if you will.
All the details for the card drive can be found HERE, as well as a list of AMAZING sponsors who have offered up some phenomenal prizes to be raffled off to those who submit cards. Please read the rules carefully. The card drive will run from February 14th thru April 15th.
I played with some of my favorite WPlus 9 sets! Color My World and That is All. The sentiment set, That is All has so many awesome varieties and the coordinating die set works for the larger handwritten words- wicked fun!
I had fun playing with the new Worn Lipstick Oxide Distress Ink for the background with a little Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain too. I stamped all the images and heat embossed with clear on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then watercolored them in with Distress Inks. I don’t own the coordinating die set for Color My World, so fussy cutting it was, that’s ok. I find it relaxing sometimes! Stamped and embossed the sentiment too, really makes it POP! Once the card was assembled I put TWO layers of glossy accents on the paint blobs 🙂
See below how I made this card for a Valentine for Chris 😉 I had so much fun making the first I created another!
Now be sure to hop along to the rest of these creative girls for more inspiration!
