Watercolored Rose Cards with Distress Inks

02/15/2017

Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday ChallengeHey, everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Fantastic Florals!

We are featuring Altenew Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!

Watercolored Rose Cards with Distress Inks

You know how sometimes when your to-do list is wicked long, and you spend WAY to long on one of the items but it doesn’t matter because you enjoyed it so much? That was this set of cards. I spent a long time watercoloring them. I took my time adding layers, and making sure one area had dried before coloring right next to it and honestly just enjoying the process.

I used the no line watercoloring technique, which I am still loving. You can see a tutorial I did about this technique here: http://shurk.us/scs-watercolor

I used distress inks to watercolor with which is still my fave. I love the sentiments that are with this floral frame set from Altenew so it inspired me to make 4 cards so I could use them all.

Floral Frame, Altenew

I hope you enjoy these cards and they inspire you to watercolor!

My mouth just fell open when I looked at your card. I immediatly went to the no line watercolor video and did not see the card you did with the flowers. Please, Please, Please do a video. I love your colors so much, the colors and image you picked out are amazing.
