Although I know we don’t have to share a holiday card with you, I just couldn’t resist playing with Honey Bee’s new “Snow Buddies” stamp set. I actually HATE winter, but I LOVE snowman and snowflakes (as long as I don’t need to touch them in real life 😉 ).
For this card, I made a watercolored background using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I start by laying water down on the cardstock with a paintbrush. Then picking up ink with the same wet paintbrush, and touching the ink into the watered background and moving the color around. Once I get a decent amount of color down, I heat set the background, and then add another layer.
I used Copic markers to color the snowman, bunny and little bird. For the hanging snowflakes, I used the set, Jingle all the way, and I stamped them with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink, then I used a Quickie Glue pen and added Prisma Glitter to them for some fun sparkle.
I stamped the sentiment “Ridiculously Happy” with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide, and then using a wet glue I added chunky glitter to the ground.
I love that this card is perfect to send to a special friend all winter long!
Before I go, I wanted to share with 2 other cards. I love how Honey Bee sends little free stamps in their orders as well as coloring cards. I used these to make 2 other fun cards.
For this hello bumblebee card, I used the 2 free bee stamps I have gotten as well as some little hearts and stars from various Honey Bee stamp sets to create a background. I then Copic colored the images. I Copic colored a gradient in the background with B06, B04, B02, B01, and B00.
For the sentiment, I colored a gradient on a piece of white cardstock with R35, R24, R22 Copic markers, then I die cut out “hello” honey cut. I cut 4 more out of black cardstock, and stacked them with a wet glue.
This card was super fun to color and a great use of the free stamps!
Lastly, I had fun with one of the coloring cards that Honey Bee sent me with my order.
I played with Copic markers and really took my time shading the images and adding little details.
I then matted it with dark brown cardstock and adhered it to a yellow card.
Hope you have enjoyed this inspiration! Wishing you all a fabulous holiday season! Thank you, Melissa and Lisa, for having me!
