Hi friends! I just had to make some cards with this die set from Hero Arts. I mean, c’mon, it’s Gus Gus, my black kitty! Those wide eyes and the little white whiskers make it absolutely perfect. 🖤🐾

Quick and Cute

These were so fun to put together. There aren’t too many pieces, and since the kitty really fills the card, you don’t have to do a whole lot to bring on the cuteness!

A Rich Ink-Blended Background

For the background, I ink blended Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink onto Distress White Heavystock using domed foam to get a really rich, vibrant color. Then I splattered it with some gold Gansai Tambi paint for a little extra shimmer.

Building the Kitties

Next, I put together the kitties using colored cardstock. To give them their signature Gus Gus look, I added whiskers with my white gel pen. It’s such a small detail, but it really brings them to life!

Fall Treats to Hold

I die cut a leaf, a pumpkin, a candy corn, and three little hearts, then watercolored them all with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I tucked each treat into a kitty’s paws with a heart, For a little extra shine, I added a touch of Distress Rock Candy Clear to each of the treats Gus Gus is holding, and Glossy Accents to the hearts. Then I finished the cards off with simple sentiments.
