Hello Everyone! I have a couple cards to share with you that I created for the past and current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. The current challenge is encouraging you to create a project that features fun with food!

Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-
Summertime Fun, Lawn Fawnatics
Living on Cape Cod, anytime I think of Summertime Fun, I think of where I live. I love it on Cape Cod all year round, but summers are definitely special! For this challenge we were supposed to show critters having fun in the summer, can you spot my critter? To create this card I die-cut a bunch of scene building pieces out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I cut some Stitched Wave Borders, then I cut a Puffy Cloud Border, and then I cut the stitched sun from Spring Showers.
I used Distress Watercolor Pencils to add color to all of these elements, as well as the background.

For the “critter” I added a shark fin in the ocean from Duh-Nuh. We actually have a good number of Great White Sharks in our waters throughout the summer. They stick to where the seals, their food source are, and aren’t where I goto the beach. A lot of people think this is bad, but it actually shows how healthy our waters are. I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black and Lawn Fawn white cardstock which is Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB Smooth Solar White Paper, and colored the fin with the T’s Copic markers.
For the sentiment I cut the Fishtail Banner out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and watercolored with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I stamped “cape cod” with Riley’s ABCs on each of the banners, and I added a couple shells from On The Beach, that I honestly had left over from creating some other cards.
I added some Distress Rock Candy with Distress Collage Medium to the waves and seashells for a little sparkle!
Fruity Hello’s
For this set of cards I started by creating the new Fruit Tiny Tags. I mostly used Spiffy Speckles Patterned Paper, and ink blended the edges with Lawn Fawn Ink.
Strawberry:
- Spiffy Speckles- Strawberry Frosting (ink blended with Bubblegum Ink)
- Spiffy Speckles- Pesto (ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass Ink)
Lemon:
- Spiffy Speckles- Ripe Banana (ink blended with Sunflower Ink)
- White Cardstock- ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass and Doe Ink
Watermelon:
- Spiffy Speckles- Strawberry Frosting (ink blended with Bubblegum Ink)
- Spiffy Speckles- Pesto (ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass Ink)
- Watercolor Wishes- Four-Leaf Clover
- Storm Cloud Cardstock
Pineapple:
- Spiffy Speckles- Ripe Banana (ink blended with Sunflower Ink)
- Spiffy Speckles- Pesto (ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass Ink)
Lime:
- Spiffy Speckles- Pesto (ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass Ink)
- White Cardstock- ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass and Doe Ink
I added some Lawn Trimmings to the tag tops. I stamped the cheeks, and faces onto the fruit using the All The Clouds stamp set. I also added a touch of sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and Prisma Glitter.
For the backgrounds I used one of the Skinny Stripes Stencils, and Merman Lawn Fawn ink.
As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads. Since this stencil was very detailed with thise skinny stripe I found it easier to use the Picket Fence Pouncer instead of a Blending Brush which might move the stencil. I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth. Have you seen my new *exclusive* Flour Sack cloths?! They are wicked fun and available in my online shop!
I die-cut these backgrounds from the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies.
I trimmed the backgrounds, and added them to card bases. I then stamped the sentiment from the All The Clouds stamp set. I then added the fruit to the cards with foam squares. I also added some Black Glaze Pen to the sunglasses on the pineapple.
I stamped one of the small sentiments from Tiny Tag Sayings, this is a great set also if you are going to use these as actual tags.
