Fall Vibes, Tim Holtz

Happy Fall everyone! I know after Halloween people tend to kick it into holiday gear, but since I have been creating holiday cards all year, I feel I have time to share some fall cards. Did you catch Tim Holtz’s Facebook LIVE all about Fall Vibes? And then his following one about Leaf Love? These LIVEs he has been hosting are full of so much inspiration and information! Well worth watching them, or catching the replays over on his site.

Fall Vibes, Tim Holtz

I watched Tim’s replay all about Fall Vibes and making inky backgrounds. I followed along with him and created the above backgrounds. I am going to share with you over the next few days the cards I have created with these backgrounds.

For this card, I used the background that is on the bottom row, far left. I started by clear embossing various leaves from the Tim Holtz Leaf Prints stamp set, directly on the background I had created.

Then I ink blended Ground Espresso Distress Ink, all over the background. The leaves that I had embossed resisted the ink, creating a striking background.

Next, I used the new Tonic Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer, to cut down the panel. Next, I ink blended some panels of cardstock with Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive and Vintage Photo Distress inks. Then I diecut leaves using Fall Foliage dies.

I then die cut “Hello” from Lawn Fawn’s Oliver’s ABC’s and assembled the elements all together. For a finishing touch a wrapped some twine around the card a few times and tied a bow. I just love how this fall greeting turned out 🙂

The foliage has been stunning on Cape Cod this past week, I just had to step outside and snap a pic of the card “in its element”
