duh-nuh, I love you – Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be sharing with you a fun non-traditional valentine’s card! Before I get to the details of the card I wanted to let you know that due to a HUGE blizzard that hit last weekend, I had to postpone my Love Letters class to THIS Saturday, February 5th, so if you were on the fence about signing up, now is the time! This class is open to everyone, worldwide! duh-nuh, I love you – Lawn Fawn

I love love love, all the flip flop stamps that Lawn Fawn has been releasing. They are so fun, and help create scenes even easier! I decided to use the Duh-Nuh set and the Duh-Nuh flip flop to make a fun little Valentine.

I started by coloring in the sharks with Copic markers. I used the RV000 to add a hint of pink to them in honor of the special occasion.  You can see all the colors I used below, and I have them linked in the supply list below. I also added some eyelashes to one of them with a fine point pen.

I then ink blended some Distress White Heavystock with blender brushes and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I splattered some Liquid StarDust and then heat set it.

I cut out 3 wave panels using Stitched Wave Borders and Simple Stitched Wave Borders, then cut the panels out of the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle, to give a nice stitching on all the sides. I ink blended another panel of Distress White Heavystock with an ink blending tool and domed foam and used Picked Raspberry & Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.

Note: When using Dye-based inks, like regular Distress Inks I like to use blender brushes to get a softer, smoother look. When using Distress Oxides that have a pigment property to them, I use an ink blending tool with foam. Since they have a pigment property they are going to blend easier, and if using a brush the inks would gunk up the bristles.

For the sentiment, I used Quinn’s ABC’s , stamped and die-cut “duh-nuh” coloring them in with Copic markers for a blue gradient. I added Prisma Glitter to the bottom of the letters with a Quickie Glue Pen. I stamped “I love you” with Riley’s ABC’s. I used the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion to help make sure all my letters were nice and straight!

Lastly, I colored some strips of cardstock in a pink gradient with Copic markers, cut out various sizes of hearts from the Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag set, and sprinkled them on the card. I even gave the sharks some blushing cheeks with 2 hearts, and added some white gel pen dots too. For some of the hearts, I added Prisma glitter and some Glossy Accents.
