Creativity Takes Courage
For this card, I started with the new Decorative Trims Thinlits die. I created a few inky backgrounds using Distress White Heavystock and Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Salvaged Patina.
I then die-cut these panels with the new Decorative Trims. I also die-cut them with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle set, to add the stitching to the sides. Also using the domed foam on ink blending tools, I ink blended the edges.
For the background, I did a little bit of ink smooshing with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on Distress White Heavystock. I then stamped the script stamp from Tim’s Papillion stamp set with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.
I then die-cut the background with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle set. I cut the new 3-d impresslit butterfly out of Distress White Heavystock, and added a little Hickory Smoke splatter to the bottom right wing.
I started adding the decorative trims to the background, overlapping them. I only put adhesive at the top of the trims so I could fluff up the scallops. I added the butterfly with some foam dots.
I stamped and white embossed the sentiment from Tiny Text on black cardstock and tucked it under the trims. I finished off the card with a few dabs of Black Diamond Stickles. Lastly, I mounted the background onto some black cardstock. I just LOVE the rainbow splash against the Hickory Smoke ink.
These Decorative Trims also fit perfectly the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous, Etcetera Trims Chipboard.
