Veg Out

I love the scene-building stamps that Purple Onion has, they are so much fun to color and create a fun story. I also love how they fill a card with so much detail. I started by stamping the Produce Stand with Jet Black Lawn Fawn Ink. I then masked the whole Produce Stand, and ink blended some clouds in the background.

I then masked just the top of the counter on the stand and stamped George (Raccoon Waving). On another piece of cardstock, I stamped Sally (Cat Strolling) and the apple crate that is part of the Fruit Crates.

I colored all the images in with Copic markers. I fussy cut out the cat, and apple crate.

I added the sentiment from the Around the Town Sentiment set. I used this set on all three cards. I then diecut the panel out of the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle. Using foam dots, I popped up the cat and the apple crate. I mounted this on Ground Coffee, a dark brown cardstock from Lawn Fawn.

Best News Ever

For this next card, I started by stamping the Stone Wall, then I stamped the Countryside stamp above the stone wall.

I ink blended a row of clouds above the Countryside stamp with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. I die-cut the background with the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle. On another piece of cardstock, I stamped Alex (Owl with newspapers) and Anna (Mouse on a bicycle). I also stamped Anna on the background, so that her tail would be there and I wouldn’t have to fussy cut it.

Next, I colored in the images with Copic markers. I fussy cut it out the mouse and owl and popped them up off the card. I stamped the sentiment “Best News Ever”, which is from the Around the Town Sentiment set. I mounted the whole card front on a piece of Ground Coffee cardstock.

Paint the Town

For this last card, I spread a thin layer of gesso on 3 quarters of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Distress White Heavystock cardstock.

 

I then used an eyedropper to spread water to look like a drip. I used Distress paint and spread it along the trail of water. I did this for each color. Using a heat tool to dry the paint.

I then stamped Polly (Hedgehog with paintbrush and cans) and colored him in with Copic markers. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Around the Town Sentiment set.

I diecut the panel with the Outside-In Stitched Rectangle die, and mounted it on Black Licorice Cardstock.

Using unmounted red rubber stamps

Purple Onion has come out with Clear Mounting Stamps that make it SO much easier to use their stamps. I love how I can put it into my Misti and it clings to the red rubber stamps and can be used over and over and over.

Storing unmounted red rubber stamps

I have shared in the past how I organize and store all of my Purple Onion Designs Stamps but I thought it would be helpful to share again.

 

I organized my stamps into categories, and each category got its own storage box.

• Critters
• Scene Building
• Sentiments

Then I stamped the images on 4×6 cardstock so I will have them to refer to.

Then I store the reference sheets in the storage container with the stamps. These containers fit in the split fridge binz that I store all my clear stamps and dies in, so it works out perfectly for me!

I hope this helps and shows you how easy it is to use these stamps because Purple Onion really has some adorable designs!
