Hi, everyone! I am here today to share another card for the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. If you love Lawn Fawn you should definitely follow us over on that site- we have a fabulous team that offers inspiration and chances to win gift certificates to Lawn Fawn! This challenge is to use the above images as inspiration for your project.
Before I share my card I wanted to let you know that I have many online card classes available to take. Each class is filled with techniques, lessons, and tips and tricks to help you in your cardmaking. Even if you don’t have all the supplies for the class, you can make substations and still learn a ton! You can find more details here, and let me know if you have any questions.
I have a lot of fun virtual classes and events I am planning for the fall, if you want to be sure to hear about all of these fun announcements, be sure to subscribe to my email newsletter.
Alright, now to the card I have to share with you-
Don’t Whirry Be Happy, Lawn Fawnatics
I had a lot of inky fun creating this card! Let me share with you how it came together. I started by making an inky background with Distress Inks on Distress White Heavystock.
I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, smooshing it onto a piece of acetate, spritzing it with water, to create droplets. Then I picked up the acetate, flipping it over, and manipulating where I wanted ink on the background by pressing the acetate to the Distress White Heavystock, and picking it up. I use a Ranger heat tool, to dry in between layers, and this helps create a variety of color and brightness.
Once I got the background to look the way I wanted, I diecut it with the new Simple Stripes: Diagonal. I adhered these stripes to another sheet of cardstock.
I then stamped out images from So Smooth and Crazy Antics, and colored them in with Copic markers, and die-cut them.
I die-cut the letters for “HAPPY” from Finley’s ABCs out of white cardstock, and colored my own ombre with Copic markers.
I assembled the whole card, also stamping the sentiment “don’t whirry, be” on the background.
I love how this cheerful, and bright card turned out. I hope it inspires you!
